The reason I am hoping to have a dog owners association is so we can discuss issues like this. Some will want it with in walking distance and others (me included) would like it outside of current heavily populated areas (Bethesda Side Road?). Apparently the town is looking at a few possibilities for a report to be submitted to council in the next few months.
I WOULD APPECIATE EVERYONES OPINION ON THE WHERE, HOW AND WHATS

There is an incredible offleash park just outside Stratford and I would love for that type to be here. Fence right down to the ground (I have a beagle and a golden and the beagle always looks for the smallest holes), large open area as well as a wooded area to walk through and even a bit of a creek through it. There are always dogs there, even in the worst weather, I wonder if it'd be worth finding out how that one came to be and how it's managed.

I would prefer the park to be as close to the downtown as possible so that it is within walking distance (I live in the Hoover Park and 9th line area). If I have to drive to it, I don't think I would use it as often.
I realize my preference means a smaller park with less varied terrain, but I think this trade off is worth the extra convenience.

I think something closer to the downtown core to. Smaller is OK by me, the size of one of the old baseball diamond fenced in areas works just fine. Near the resevoir would be another option. It should be in walking distance to anybody in the town itself. If they want to make a larger area outside of town I do not think many people would use it, after all , what is the point of driving your dog to a walk? (Aside from the waste of gas)

I too would like the park to be within the downtown core. being in the centre makes it fair! There are a bunch of dog owners that meet every morning where the old baseball diamond was (before it was torn down and made into a dirt pile) that want a park too!

I had a chance to speak to some of the other dog owners i've come to know from the 'old park that we gathered at before it was torn apart' and they too agreed that the park should be somewhere close within walking distance. Does anyone even use the patch of field behind the lebovic community pool? It's a large area with no cars and tons of room for them to run around!!
your thoughts?
